Dominique has a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a M.Ed. in Urban Education. She has 5 years of education experience, including 2 years teaching third grade in self-contained classrooms. Dominique has also worked as a literacy specialist, led a school-wide Academic Intervention Services Team, and was a teaching assistant at a coding summer camp in Oakland.

Teaching Philosophy

Dominique’s educational philosophy is based on putting students first; she values her personal relationship with her students beyond just the academic sense. She prefers a more hands-on approach and regularly incorporates games, whiteboards, and videos to keep the content engaging. Dominique gets to know each student's interests and learning styles and shapes her instruction around that.

Example Schedules

Full Time General Education

9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday of reading, math, science, and social studies.

Part Time Enrichment and Support

2 days a week of tutoring, homework help, and activities as a supplement to a general education curriculum.
